Sequential Circuits Pro-One Vintage Analog Monophonic Synthesizer
Sold On: 2015-05-20
Sequential Circuits Pro-One mono Analog Synthesizer. This is a distinctly vintage synthesizer, being manufactured around 1982 or so. This is a Very fun synth to play - I love that you can change the key of the seq by playing the keyboard and add spaces into the seq by turning the on/off switch while recording. Details about this particular Pro-One: It is in good condition for its age. Here is what some people say re the Pro one. Sequential Pro-One – best vintage monophonic? While the cute Pro-One Model 100 might be only one tenth of the great Prophet-5 Model 1000 considering hardware, it has its own musical territory, its own power that never will be beaten. Sequential’s Pro One is a miracle. It was released at a time when monophonic synths had to fight a battle against polyphonics, which became more and more popular. Quite at the end of the great analog aera Sequential Circuits presented their first and only monophonic in 1981. Interesting, considering this company itself somehow introduced the polyphonic aera way back in 1978 with the all-time-classic Prophet-5. Sequential’s Pro-One is NOT a simple synthesizer with just nice VCOs and a great filter. It is NOT one single voice of a Prophet-5! That rumour seems to be very, very insistent but when listening to each instrument’s power you’ll recognize it’s not true, not at all.
I did a quick google on the serial no, so from what I can tell this is the J-Wire version "The membrane keyboard was used in the Pro-Ones with serial number over 8500"
